I spent 9 years as a TV news reporter. I started out in Yakima, Washington, then moved to Shreveport, Louisiana. From there it was Channel One News in LA, then CNET TV in New York and KCBS and KCAL-TV in Los Angeles. The past few years I have concentrated on technology news, and have served as a recurring tech expert guest on pretty much every cable channel there is, plus programming, including three appearances on The Today Show. I'm very active on social networks and blogs, including my personal blog and Twitter. I am able to shoot, write and edit video using Final Cut. You can get in touch with me by phone or email here.
Here is my general demo reel:
I currently produce a show called The 5 on TechVi.com. I write, shoot and edit the show from my personal web studio. The show concentrates on 5 gadgets or websites you need to know about in a category.
Currently, I also serve as a Tech Guru on KFWB-AM 980 in Los Angeles, sharing interesting tech tidbits on the radio station. Listen to a sample here:
Before The 5, I produced another tech web show called "Synched Up." I also wrote, shot and edited the show from my personal web studio. This show covers general tech news and features gadgets, useful websites and viral videos.
In addition to my regular daily tech reports for KCAL-TV and KCBS-TV, I also produced a podcast called "Tech Check." It featured many of the stories I reported on during the course of a week at the news station.
Here's a sample "Tech Check" Podcast:
Also at KCAL-TV, I did a neat segment called "What's Clicking," where I surfed the web on live TV and showed viewers how to interact with our newscast by submitting pictures, emails and Tweets.
Here is a sample segment:
While at CNET, I created various multi-platform video segments for their website, TV and mobiles. There, I created a show called "The Queue," which also covered tech news, gadgets, viral videos and cool websites. It was also syndicated out to MSN.com. I also covered tech news events, product launches and electronics shows.
Here is a sample of "The Queue"
While at CNET, I did a lot of talking on TV as a guest tech expert for various outlets. I was a regular on ABC News' TechBytes, MSNBC, Fox News, Fox Business Channel, CNBC, the BBC and various syndicated and local shows. I also appeared on the Today Show several times. Here is a sample segment:
Finally, for what it's worth...I was made fun of by Jimmy Kimmel on his talk show once:
